Toronto Botanical Garden "Through the Garden Gate" Tour, June 20 & 21, 2010
For the second consecutive year, Gatherings Event Planning and Toronto Botanical Garden committee organized the event "Through the Garden Gate" that was held on June 20 & 21, 2010. Through the Garden Gate, now in its 23rd year, is an annual garden tour organized by the Toronto Botanical Garden. Each year the tour highlights a different Toronto neighbourhood, and we chose 26 private gardens in THE BEACH to showcase this year.

The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada Annual Fundraiser, June 13th, 2010
Donkey Day is the annual fundraiser of The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada and was held on June 13th, 2010 from 11am to 4pm. Gatherings helped them organize the event and all logistics. The DSC is a registered charity. Since 1992 it has provided a lifelong home to donkeys and mules that have been abused, neglected or were no longer wanted. 1700 visitors from across Ontario passed through the gates of the beautiful DSC farm, located outside Guelph, to enjoy a special afternoon in the country for animal lovers of all ages. They had terrific entertainment by local musicians, interactive donkey activities, and so much more. And of course, lots and lots of donkeys to see.

Emerging Leaders Network (ELN) , - December 15, 2009
On Tuesday, Dec.15, 2009, the Emerging Leaders Network (ELN) showcased both current and future projects and ideas of Toronto's up and coming city building leaders at a studio gathering at the MaRS Discovery District. With their thoughts on their mentor David Pecaut, who died a day earlier, the city's next generation of leaders met to focus on specific projects that could change life in the city, from increased voter turnout in municipal elections to creating an arts corridor along John Street. Gatherings Event Planning was once again part of this great project, taking care of all logistics, set-up, cocktail reception, rentals and on-site management.

Tour Bridle Path backyards on Father's Day, June 20 & 21, 2009

Toronto Botanical Garden hired Gatherings Event Planning to organize its biggest event of the year, Through the Garden Gate: Beyond the Bridle Path. The event took place on Father's Day Weekend, June 20 & 21, 2009. The tour took participants on a discovery tour of the gardens of the Bayview Ridge to Post Rd area and unveil some spectacular garden gems. Proceeds from this event support the programs and services offered by the Toronto Botanical Garden, a volunteer-based, charitable organization whose purpose is to inspire passion, respect and understanding of gardening, horticulture, and the natural landscape.

An Evening of Elegance, Friday, October 3rd, 2008

The Canadian Ballet Youth Ensemble celebrated Alicia Alonso and The National Ballet of Cuba at An Evening of Elegance. The Black-Tie Gala Fundraising Gala was held at The Silvestri Residence in Hamilton. The evening was full of "elegance" and began with a champagne reception & hors d'oeuvres in the residence's lobby with enchanting harp music in the background. Guests socialized with the crowd and had a chance to bid on items in the silent auction. A lavish 5 course meal was served in the residences ballroom and the evening concluded with a Ballet performance by the principle dancers of The National Ballet of Cuba and other musical entertainment. All funds raised through An Evening of Elegance went directly back to The Canadian Ballet Youth Ensemble and their continued success.

The Village of Clarkson in Mississauga celebrated their 200th Anniversary on Saturday June 21st, with an all day Village-wide celebration. Activities included horse and buggy rides, petting zoo, children's games and face painting. Entertainment included, Judy- The Manners Lady, Beauty Queen Grace Martin, The M�tis Fiddlers, Virgil Scott, Krista Blondin's Janis Jopplin Tribute and many more. VIP guests included Mississauga's Mayor Hazel McCallion, Councillor Pat Mullins and CityTv's Francis D'Souza. Gatherings was contracted for the day-of logistics and on-site event management.

Gatherings Event Planning helps organize RMC’s Alumni Gala which raised funds for the Wounded Warriors and established bursary. In celebration of Canada’s global military contribution, General Rick Hillier, Chief of the Defense Staff, addressed a full auditorium of government, corporate, local and military guests at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel. Don Cherry, host of Hockey Night in Canada, was one of the events honorary patrons, receiving the Canadian Armed Forces Medallion for Distinguished Service.
